Google Drive allows users to store files in the cloud, share files, and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations with collaborators. It support 30 types of files, such as document, pictures, HD video, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, but problem comes, right? Why can't we stored directly DVD movies on Google Drive?
Almost all movies are encrypted with CSS copy protection. Decryption keys are stored in the normally inaccessible lead-in area of the disc. You'll usually get an error if you try to copy the contents of an encrypted DVD to Google Drive. However, if you have used a software player to play the movie it will have authenticated the disc in the drive, allowing you to copy without error, but the encryption keys will not be copied. If you try to play the copied VOB files, the decoder will request the keys from the DVD-ROM drive and will fail. You may get the message "Cannot play copy-protected files".
Now that it doesn't work to directly copy DVDs to Google Drive, using DVD ripping software is the best way to rip DVDs to Google Drive supports MP4, AVI, MOV, FLV, WMV etc. video files. Here we'd like to take Aimersoft DVD Ripper for example to introduce the steps, it offers powerful yet easy-to-use functions, excellent video/audio quality, and fast ripping speed. Please note, the steps are the same, you only need to select Google Drive Supported formats as the output: http://www.hivimoore.com/2015/08/upload-dvd-to-cloud/
