downhill baseball and moving up the standings.Nick Ahmed homered twice and had four RBIs http://www.metsfanproshop.com/authentic-tim-tebow-jersey , Steven Souza Jr. drove in three more runs and the Diamondbacks jumped on the San Francisco Giants early for a 9-3 victory on Saturday night.“Just momentum, you score first in the game — I don’t know what the percentages are — but you have much higher likelihood to win the game,” Ahmed said. “We just try to jump out, attack early and have been doing a good job of that lately.”Souza hit a two-run triple and Ketel Marte hit a two-run homer off Andrew Suarez (4-7) in Arizona’s second-straight five-run first inning against the Giants. Arizona leads the majors with 92 first-inning runs and moved a game ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West after winning for the third time in four games.Ahmed had run-scoring single in the first, a two-run homer in the fifth and a solo shot in the eighth.“When I talk about downhill baseball Mookie Wilson Jersey , we eliminate a lot of the noise and go out there and play the game the way we know how,” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said.Steven Duggar hit his first career home run and Andrew McCutchen had a solo shot for the only runs off Clay Buchholz (5-1), who won his fourth straight start. Buchholz struck out Evan Longoria with runners on second and third in the fourth inning, then put the Giants down in order the next two innings.McCutchen had five hits and two RBIs from the leadoff spot.“The leadoff hitter gets five hits, a home run http://www.metsfanproshop.com/authentic-tim-tebow-jersey , RBI double and you think we are in the game, but unfortunately we weren’t,” Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. The Diamondbacks jumped on starter Chris Stratton for five runs in the first inning of Friday’s win and did the same against Suarez.Souza had a two-run triple and Ahmed followed with a run-scoring single. Marte made it 2-0 with a no-doubt two-run homer to center, his 10th of the season. Marte joins Stephen Drew (three times), Steve Finley (twice) and David Peralta as the only Arizona players with 10 homers and 10 triples in a season.Souza had a run-scoring double that just missed going out in center in the fifth inning. Ahmed followed with a shot to left that did clear the wall for a two-run homer to put Arizona up 8-2.Suarez allowed eight runs on 10 hits in five innings.“I fell behind in the count Gary Carter Jersey , they took advantage of it,” Suarez said. “I had some good pitches and they hit them.”Buchholz was sharp except for a couple of breaking balls: One that McCutchen hit for a solo homer in the third inning, another Duggar hit for a solo shot in the fourth.Buchholz allowed two runs on seven hits in six innings.AHMED’S RISEAhmed was known mostly for his glove his first four big-league seasons, hitting no more than nine homers and a career-best of 34 RBIs.The 28-year-old shortstop has found his grove at the plate this season with 16 homers and 57 RBIs. His 16 homers are third in Diamondbacks history by a shortstop, behind Stephen Drew’s 21 in 2008 and Jay Bell’s 18 in 1998.“I feel like he was never satisfied with just being a great defender who was going to put the bat on the ball Dwight Gooden Jersey ,” Lovullo said. “He wanted to excel in both areas. He has a really good mindset that he wants to be great. I think that motivates him every day.”GIANTS MOVESSan Francisco recalled RHPs Derek Law and Pierce Johnson from Triple-A Sacramento prior to Saturday’s game, and optioned Stratton and infielder Kelby Tomlinson to the River Cats. Stratton struggled against the Diamondbacks on Friday, allowing six runs on 10 hits in three innings of a 6-3 loss.TRAINER’S TABLEGiants: C Buster Posey was held out of the lineup under concussion protocol after leaving Friday’s game due to a foul ball off his mask. He worked in the field before Saturday’s game and could play Sunday if he remains symptom free.Diamondbacks: Lovullo returned to the dugout after missing Friday’s game due to an illness.UP NEXTArizona LHP Robbie Ray is 4-1 with a 2.84 ERA in 10 career starts against the Giants heading into Sunday’s season finale. Giants starter Derek Holland is 0-1 with a 4.61 ERA in three career starts against the Diamondbacks. Mike Elias was hired Friday to rebuild the Baltimore Orioles Paul Goldschmidt Jersey , who traded many of their star players last season before finishing with the worst record in the majors.Elias will carry the title of executive vice president and general manager. He will “oversee all baseball operations for the club and have full autonomy to build his staff and make decisions on all baseball matters,” the Orioles said in a statement.Elias will be introduced at a news conference in Baltimore on Monday. The 35-year-old Elias comes to the Orioles after working as scouting director and assistant GM in Houston, where he helped transform a last-place team into 2017 World Series champions.Elias replaces executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette, who was fired with manager Buck Showalter in October after Baltimore’s dreadful 47-115 season. One of Elias’ first tasks will be to find a new manager. He can then turn his attention toward reconstructing a team that was overhauled at the midpoint of the worst season since the Orioles arrived in Baltimore in 1954.In July, Duquette traded Manny Machado, Zach Britton, Jonathan Schoop, Kevin Gausman, Darren O’Day and Brad Brach for 15 minor league prospects and International signing bonus slot money.A team-record 15 players made their major league debut with the Orioles in 2018 http://www.philliesfanproshop.com/authentic-pat-neshek-jersey , one reason why Baltimore finished 61 games behind World Series champion Boston in the AL East. The Orioles’ 115 defeats were most in franchise history, surpassing the 111 losses by the 1939 St. Louis Browns. Baltimore’s previous worst season was in 1988, when the team went 54-107 following a 0-21 start.Elias served as a scout with the St. Louis Cardinals before being hired in 2012 by Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow. Throughout his seven years in Houston, he helped shape an Astros roster that produced successive 100-win seasons and three playoff appearances in the last four years, one of which ended with a World Series victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.During his stint in Houston, the team had the top pick in the draft three times. Elias received much of the credit for Houston’s No. 1 overall selection of Carlos Correa in the 2012 draft. He’ll likely have the last word when the Orioles use the No. 1 overall pick in next year’s draft.A 2006 graduate of Yale, Elias was a four-time letter winner as a left-handed pitcher for the Bulldogs. The Baltimore Orioles come into Kansas City on Friday for the start of their three-game weekend series in an unusual position — riding a three-game winning streak.Andrew Cashner (4-12, 4.79 ERA) will help the Orioles try for their second four-game winning streak of the season. He goes against Brad Keller (6-5, 3.33).Baltimore (40-94) is coming off a three-sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays. Toronto had scored victories in 12 of the first 13 games between the teams this season before the Orioles rolled over the Jays http://www.philliesfanproshop.com/authentic-pat-neshek-jersey , scoring 29 runs in three victories.Article continues below ...Right fielder Adam Jones handled his shift from his long-time position in center without a word of complaint, trying to help rookie Cedric Mullins adjust to life in the big leagues. Jones was one of the big bats in this series. He finished with four hits in Tuesday’s win and banged out a grand slam in a 12-5 rout of Toronto on Wednesday night.“It’s just fun to see him have fun,” Baltimore starter Alex Cobb said to MASNsports.com about Jones doing well late in a season that doesn’t mean much. “He’s meant so much to this organization. For him to go out there and have big moments like that in a season that’s kind of lost for us, it’s fun to see and fun to be a part of.”Cashner will try and continue the fun in Kansas City on Friday night. He’s 0-2 with a 2.45 ERA versus the Royals in his career but has pitched better lately as Baltimore has played better.Keller will be making his first career appearance versus the Orioles. The Orioles are playing a team they’re “battling” for the title of worst record in the majors, something neither franchise is happy about. Four years ago, these two teams met in the American League Championship Series.Kansas City (42-91) is a bit behind Baltimore, but the Royals also have found more recent success, especially in the past week. The sweep of the Jays was the Orioles’ first sweep of a three-game series since late last season. But the Royals have won two series in a row, taking two of three from Cleveland before winning both games against the Detroit Tigers. In Wednesday’s win over Detroit Aaron Altherr Jersey , longtime Royals player Alex Gordon hit his 170th homer as a member of the franchise and moved to fourth place all time. He said he didn’t even realize where he ranked on the home run list.“I just wanted to make it to the big leagues and not mess up,” Gordon told the media after that game. “Any time you have been with an organization as long as I have, you’re going to pass some people. I’m just an old guy moving up the list.”The Royals made a move Wednesday, trading Lucas Duda to the Atlanta Braves for cash, which makes him eligible for postseason play. Duda was on a one-year deal with Kansas City.Baltimore also has lost outfielder/designated hitter Mark Trumbo to a knee surgery. He will miss the rest of the season. Mullins is battling a sore hip.

reportedly have big plans this winter.Historically expensive big plans.Jon Heyman of FanCred reported some rival executives believe the Phillies could sign both Manny Machado and Bryce Harper in free agency. Machado and Harper are expected to land contracts that could put them among the highest-paid players in MLB history.Machado http://www.astrosfanproshop.com/authentic-justin-verlander-jersey , 26, has hit .302/.374/.545 with 34 home runs and 93 runs batted in this season with the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers. He is seventh in baseball with 5.8 wins above replacement, perFanGraphs. He's been a five-win player three of the last four seasons.Harper, 25, has not had quite as much success in his walk year. He's hitting .247/.388/.503 with 33 home runs and 94 runs batted in. He's posted 3.1 wins above replacement and has been a glaring negative defensively, perFanGraphs.A strong August upped his averages across the board, but it seems unlikely Harper will get the $400 million contract some had speculated about.Nevertheless, Machado and Harper are in a unique position because of their performance levels and age. Most players Tyler Clippard Jersey , even good ones, reach free agency around their 30s. Harper and Machado can demand 12-year contracts that wouldn't even theoretically push them past their prime. They aren't going to be paying $30 million to a 41-year-old Albert Pujols the way the Angels will in 2021.That means the bidding is going to be astronomical and will take a true all-in commitment from Phillies ownership to make it happen. Harper and Machado combined is a $600 million endeavor even more. OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Shin-Soo Choo’s home run on the first pitch of the game ensured the Texas Rangers would avoid a third consecutive shutout.A fourth straight strong outing from Mike Minor was just as big for manager Jeff Banister’s ballclub.Minor pitched six scoreless innings of one-hit ball to win his fourth straight, Joey Gallo backed up Choo with his 33rd homer and the Rangers snapped out of their offensive slump to avoid a series sweep, beating the Oakland Athletics 4-2 on Wednesday.“Choo getting off early, getting a run on the board, allowed our offense to kind of settle in,” Banister said. “It gave our guys some confidence to go out and swing the bat and attack.”Texas was shut out in the first two games of the series and had a 19-inning scoreless streak before Choo’s leadoff homer on the first pitch from Oakland starter Edwin Jackson (4-3) in the first inning. It was Choo’s fourth game-opening home run this season and the 27th of his career. After Choo walked and scored on Beltre’s single in the third http://www.astrosfanproshop.com/authentic-justin-verlander-jersey , Gallo opened the fourth with a towering drive off Jackson. Gallo’s 74 home runs since the start of last season are the most by a Rangers player over a two-year span since Mark Teixeira had 76 from 2005-06.“We kept fighting,” Gallo said. “That’s baseball. Sometimes you get shut out and that’s the way it goes. Sometimes things don’t go your way.”Adrian Beltre had a pair of RBI singles to help the Rangers end a six-game losing streak to the A’s. Jurickson Profar added two hits. Elvis Andrus singled and scored after going hitless in his previous 12 at-bats.Stephen Piscotty had an RBI double for Oakland, which fell one game behind Houston in the AL West.“You look at the homestand and you have to feel good about winning the series,” Oakland manager Bob Melvin said. “We’ve been playing great and bringing the same attitude every day.”The same could be said of Minor, who has been the Rangers’ most effective starter for the past three weeks.Minor (10-6) was crisp while striking out four and walking one in his most effective start in nearly two months. The lefty, who was scratched from his scheduled start last Friday because of back stiffness, allowed only two runners and faced the minimum through six innings. Both runners were erased on double plays.“I feel good about the zeros on the board, but I think there’s room for improvement Yuli Gurriel Jersey ,” Minor said. “I still didn’t throw good breaking balls, the changeup was just OK and the fastball location was OK.”Cory Gearrin, Alex Claudio, Chris Martin and Jose Leclerc combined to retire nine batters and complete the four-hitter.The A’s loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth, but Leclerc struck out Nick Martini on a check swing for his sixth save in 10 opportunities.Beltre singled in Andrus in the fifth to make it 4-0 and chase Jackson, who allowed four runs in 4 1/3 innings and lost for the first time since July 20. The right-hander had yielded two runs over his previous 24 1/3 innings.“I was off today,” Jackson said. “I was under the ball a lot and that caused the ball to go flat and up in the zone.”STAYING PUTBecause their next series is across the San Francisco Bay against the Giants at AT&T Park, the Rangers won’t have to board a plane and instead will stay in the same hotel where they’ve been since Monday.TRAINER’S ROOMRangers: Profar started again at third base in place of Beltre Jake Marisnick Jersey , who’s had recurring hamstring problems, and made a diving stop on Ramon Laureano’s sharp grounder in the first inning.UP NEXTRangers: RHP Drew Hutchison (2-2, 5.71 ERA) makes his fourth start of the season Friday against the Giants. Hutchison won his previous outing when he allowed two runs in five innings against the Angels.Athletics: RHP Trevor Cahill (5-2, 3.12) pitches the opener of a four-game series in Minnesota on Thursday. Cahill has won four consecutive decisions, his longest winning streak since 2013.

IRVING http://www.rockiesfanproshop.com/authentic-chad-bettis-jersey , Texas (AP) — Tony Clark’s contract as executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association was extended through 2022, a year past the expiration of the current collective bargaining agreement with MLB.The former All-Star first baseman became executive director after previous union head Michael Weiner died in 2013, and Clark led negotiations for a labor contract covering 2017-21.“As much as anything, the engagement of our guys, the interest that they have, both now and moving forward, being connected to that, supportive of that, and leading them through that is something that I’m grateful for the opportunity to do,” Clark said Wednesday after the MLBPA finished its annual executive board meeting. This week’s meeting was at the same North Texas resort hotel where Clark and the MLPBA met two years ago with management and reached a verbal agreement on the current labor contract. In August, the union made a key addition to its staff when it hired Bruce Meyer as senior director of collective bargaining and legal. There were increased tensions between players and management when dozens of experienced free agents went unsigned into spring training this year — and some even much longer. Two weeks into spring training, about one-third of the 166 players who exercised free agency rights last November hadn’t reached contract agreements. There are about 150 free agents right now early in this offseason.Asked whether he felt things would be different this time Adam Ottavino Jersey , Clark said he is “cautiously optimistic” that they will.“We have concerns that we had last year, particularly as they’re related to competition on the field and how those manifest themselves into decisions related to rosters and individual players. Those concerns are still there,” he said. “But we remain cautiously optimistic that a year later the interests of the individual clubs and the industry as a whole has teams making decisions with an eye on competition in the near term, and now three, four, five, six years down the road.”Clark said there have been a number of informal conversations with MLB and Commissioner Rob Manfred during the last few months trying to get an idea of what talks the sides are interested in having during the offseason.“My expectations after the conversations that we had today is a lot of things that you’ve heard, whether from their side or our side, are going to be discussed,” Clark said. “Then the question becomes whether common ground can be found against the interests they have and the interests we have. So different values may be placed on different pieces of that puzzle.”Pace of play has been an ongoing discussion for several years, and now there are also on-field items such as the drastic defensive shifts being used by some teams and the increased use of relievers on pitching staffs, including some in the role of “openers” to start games. While not getting into specifics about where those issues could go Pat Valaika Jersey , and how exactly they were discussed, Clark said the players have always had a passion for the game and remain committed to it.“So any time you talk about the game and having to make changes, appreciating why the changes are being discussed while acknowledging that you’re changing the game that the guys love and are passionate about, the conversations are personal,” he said. “But the one thing that the guys have always known, and have always appreciated, is that when the game does well everybody tends to benefit.” LOS ANGELES (AP) — Astros manager A.J. Hinch met privately with the team’s owner and general manager on Saturday, a day ahead of reliever Roberto Osuna’s activation following a 75-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy.Hinch discussed the matter with owner Jim Crane and GM Jeff Luhnow, but declined to go into details. The manager said Osuna will join the club on Sunday and be activated for the series finale at Dodger Stadium.Osuna is expected to address the team and then talk to the media with Luhnow.Osuna was arrested in Toronto in May and charged with assaulting his girlfriend. No details have been made public and the matter is pending in court.MLB handed him the second-longest suspension since its domestic violence policy was enacted three years ago and Osuna did not appeal. The Astros acquired the right-hander from the Blue Jays at the trade deadline this week. The move raised eyebrows in the clubhouse and around baseball since Houston had previously stated its no-tolerance policy regarding domestic violence. The team released minor leaguer Danry Vasquez last spring after surveillance video surfaced showing him assaulting a woman.Astros starters Justin Verlander and Lance McCullers Jr. were outspoken about their disgust on Twitter at that time.“My views on the topic have been out there. I’ve spoken on them and those kind of hold firm,” McCullers said after leaving the team’s 14-0 win Saturday night with right elbow soreness. “It’s obviously a baseball operational decision.”Osuna was not at Dodger Stadium on Saturday. He pitched one scoreless inning for Double-A Corpus Christi on Friday, allowing one hit with one strikeout.Osuna could potentially make his Astros debut in a closing role on Sunday.“A lot has to happen tomorrow,” Hinch said Daniel Castro Jersey , “and as a team, family and group we’ll navigate it together.”Dodgers fans already have been booing various Astros players since the series began Friday night. It’s a rematch of last year’s World Series, won by Houston in Game 7 at Dodger Stadium.“It’s got to be difficult. He’s not an old-timer. He’s still a young kid,” Toronto manager John Gibbons said in Seattle. “It’s a lot of pressure and a lot of focus on him. It can’t be easy. He probably can’t wait to get on the mound and get away from all that.”Hinch’s first order of business will be to talk with Osuna.“I certainly want to get to know him and his background. I’ve never met him, never shook his hand,” Hinch said. “I know a little bit of his track record. We’ll get into anything that he wants to. I’m his manager now so I think it’s important to get to know him and learn what makes him be the player that he can be.”The 23-year-old right-hander is the youngest pitcher to ever record 100 saves and he can throw 95 mph.The Astros are known for being a close-knit team that banded together to help Houston after last year’s devastating floods triggered by Hurricane Harvey.“That’s not going to change,” Hinch said. The effect Osuna’s presence has on the team will be closely scrutinized.“We are going to handle it as a group as best we can,” Hinch said. “We simply don’t know and we aren’t going to draw any conclusions at this point. We’re going to welcome him on our team and begin the process of getting to know him.”

Pittsburgh Steelers Hats , Steelers unsure why Well this just keeps getting better. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a drama-filled team, and there is no debating this very simple fact. However, the drama continues to rage on throughout the 2018 season with Le’Veon Bell’s holdout showing no end in sight, and now Antonio Brown’s displeasure with the the team, and his production. To add a new wrinkle to Brown’s season which has been ‘off’ from the start, per Gerry Dulac and Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Brown reportedly missed Monday’s meetings and film study — and the Steelers don’t know why. With Mike Tomlin’s set for his weekly press conference Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. ET Pittsburgh Steelers Hoodie , he will be asked about Brown’s behavior, and also the report of him missing work on Monday. Tomlin could say he knew about the absence, and had excused Brown from work, or he could suggest Brown blew off his responsibilities to the team. Either way, clarification of some sort is needed at a time when nothing seems as if it is going right for the black-and-gold.Bell is sitting out, Brown is threatening reports and talking about trades, and now he is missing work. This is a similar story as Bell missing the walk-through prior to the Steelers’ loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in last year’s AFC Divisional Playoffs. Stay tuned to BTSC for the latest on this story.UPDATEMike Tomlin admits Brown missed practice Cheap Customized Pittsburgh Steelers Jerseys , but wouldn’t say whether it was excused or not. Take that for what it’s worth. Tomlin said he will meet with Brown on Wednesday.UPDATEMike Tomlin talking about Brown’s absence: With the Pittsburgh Steelers needing 20 yards on second down from their own 5-yard lineearly in the fourth quarter, it would have been understandable if Steelers Nation was anxious watching Joshua Dobbs take his first meaningful snap at quarterback with Ben Roethlisberger sidelined. But those fears were quickly dismissed when the young quarterback threw an impressive 22-yard strike to JuJu Smith-Schuster for the first pass of his NFL career. While Roethlisberger would return to field on the following play and take the Steelers the rest of the way, the brief appearance by Dobbs was critical to keeping the scoring drive alive. With the offense close to their own goal line and a backup quarterback in the game, it was something of a surprise to see a pass play, but it turns out a run was actually the call all along. Speaking with reporters after the game, Roethlisberger confirmed that his young backup had called an audible on the play, checking to a pass with devastating effect and impressing the veteran starter at the same time. As relieved as Dobbs will have been to know Roethlisberger wasn’t seriously injured on the play that sidelined him http://www.authenticspittsburghsteelers.com/cheap-jesse-james-jersey , it would have been understandable if he’d hoped to see more than one snap. Ultimately, the former Tennessee product was just happy to have had a chance to play.Prior to Week 9, the only opportunities that Dobbs has seen so far this season have come on kneel-down plays at the end of a game. A stat line of two runs for minus two yards in situations that gave him no room to audible were hardly learning experiences, but the first-year quarterback is sure to take something positive from this latest game action and he should enjoy his 118.8 lifetime quarterback rating while it lasts. draftniks have adopted as a sort of gospel truth. Paraphrasing Cheap T. J. Watt Jersey , it goes like this:We organize each year’s BTSC Big Board on that general idea. The “Colbert Specials” go at the top regardless of position and without much of a discount. Everyone else gets dropped to the extent that Pittsburgh has no need for a player at that position. So - who are the Colbert Specials in this year’s class, and who are the clear 1st rounders that could arguably get promoted? At this point I have studied somewhere around a dozen public Boards in the process of compiling an initial BTSC Big Board, which will appear after a series of articles addressing the team’s wants and needs. The following players are those who regularly appear in the Top 10 of those all-players-for-all-teams lists:DL Ed Oliver, Houston. 6’2”, 290 lbs. Constantly compared to HOF players like Warren Sapp or future ones like Aaron Donald. On 100% of the lists.DL Quinnen Williams, Alabama. 6’3”, 285 lbs. Constantly compared to HOF players like Warren Sapp or future ones like Aaron Donald. On 100% of the lists.DL Jeffery Simmons, Miss. St. 6’4”, 300 lbs. The strongest Defensive Lineman in the draft, he’d likely be the top dog in most other classes. On around 80%-90% of the lists.EDGE Nick Bosa, Ohio St. 6’3”, 270 lbs. On 100% of the lists, usually at #1 overall.CB Greedy Williams, LSU. 6’1”, 182 lbs. The best Corner in the draft. On 100% of the lists. Those five ARE Colbert Specials. Period, end of story. Write them off your wish list because it Ain’t Gonna Happen. Here’s the next tier:MACK ILB Devin White, LSU. 6’1”, 255 lbs. Monstrous ceiling based on athletic potential and a proper linebacker’s mindset, but also very raw and sometimes indecisive. On around 80% of the lists. SS/FS Deionte Thompson, Alabama. 6’2”, 196 lbs. The consensus #1 Safety in the draft. On around 70% of the lists.EDGE/BUCK ILB Josh Allen, Kentucky. 6’4”, 258 lbs. Remember the debates about LVE in 2018? Get ready for a repeat except this guy has big time Edge rushing talent as well. On around 60% of the lists but with more buzz than almost anyone. For my money those three are also Colbert Specials Cheap Maurkice Pouncey Jersey , bringing the total up to eight (8). I will mourn as they get picked in that 5-12 range before the Steelers could legitimately hope to trade up. Pessimistic? Me? Never. I’m going to dream about them even if I’m doomed to despair. The next group includes five (5) players that any serious film watcher could fall in love with and defend for Special status.DL Raekwon Davis, Alabama. 6’7”, 316 lbs. What Stephon Tuitt would have been as a prospect if he’d been fully healthy. On around 40%-50% of the lists.DL/EDGE Rashan Gary, Michigan. 6’5”, 283 lbs. Described by our own Nick Farabaugh as a combination of a bigger T.J. Watt and a smaller Stephon Tuitt but just as raw as either one. On around 40%-50% of the lists.EDGE Clelin Ferrell (“Furl”), Clemson. 6’5”, 260 lbs. On around 40%-50% of the lists.EDGE Jachai Polite, Florida. 6’2”, 240 lbs. On around 40%-50% of the lists.OL/TACKLE Jonah Williams, Alabama. 6’5”, 301 lbs. The safest and probably the best tackle in the class. On 40-50% of the lists. Two more D-Linemen (!), a 4-3 Edge with play in space ability, and a single offensive player who barely made the list. After that comes the Honorable Mention names who appeared 2-3 times in my research (there were another 5-10 who got mentioned only once, for what it’s worth). These include:DL Derrick Brown, Auburn. 6’4”, 316 lbs.DL Christian Wilkins, Clemson. 6’4”, 315 lbs.CB Byron Murphy, Washington. 6’0”, 175 lbs. Here are the totals out of 16 players in all:DL = 7 names, which explains why this class is already earning adjectives like “legendary”. Of course it could also be due to the four or five others that would be late- or fringe 1st rounders in any other year...Edge = 4 names, two of which fit a 4-3 better than a 3-4.CB = 2 names, one all the way at the top and the other marginal.ILB = 2 names http://www.steelerscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-xavier-grimble-jersey , one a Mack and the other a freaky Edge/Buck hybridSafety = 1 nameOL = 1 nameWhat does this mean for Steeler fans? Not much in any direct sense. It’s mostly useful as a gauge for how the draft is likely to go in the 19 picks before Pittsburgh goes on the clock. First, it’s abundantly clear that this class is enormously top heavy on the defensive side, with an astonishing cluster of Defensive Tackles. Given the game’s recent emphasis on interior pressure it’s safe to assume that at least six of those seven will go in the Top 20. That leaves a lot of room for Pittsburgh fans, who have no need at DT, to hope for some other almost-Special to drop.Second, Steeler Nation is laser focused on the CB position but that could easily be outweighed by a BPA bargain. The only true Colbert Special is Greedy Williams and he will be looooong gone before the Steelers could even hope to trade up. When the clock rolls around toward 1:20 there are likely to be talents on the Board who are superior to the next cluster of CB’s (which our draft Board has in the 1:20 to 2:12 range FWIW).Third, the fans’ secondary focus has been on ILB. There is one player similar to Shazier (Devin White) and another who seems like a better version of Leighton Vander Esch with serious Edge Rushing chops (Josh Allen). Both men would be transformative dream picks if either came in range, and maybe worth trading up to get. The #3 ILB is Alabama’s Mack Wilson, who didn’t appear on any Top 10 lists I saw but made it onto a lot of the Top 20’s. That suggests he would be a very realistic target to hope for.Next, the Edge class could be another place where Colbert & Co. choose to go. Both Josh Allen and Jachai Polite would fit Pittsburgh to a tee, and two Edge prospects (Brian Burns and Montez Sweat) would fit just as well and appeared on at least half of the Top 20 collections. And finally, the big reaches are going to come from teams desperate for an infusion on offense. History suggests at least one or two more OL’s, at least one or two QB’s, and probably a WR or two. Let’s estimate... five (5?) offensive players in the top 19. Pittsburgh will focus on the defensive side of the ball, and it is a very defense-heavy draft. According to my speculative math that means our worst case scenario is getting a Corner who offers fair value but no real bargain. Names like Byron Murphy and Deandre Baker are leading out of the gate but they’re only a nose ahead of Amani Oruwariye, Julian Love, Kris Boyd, and 2-3 others. The best case scenario is someone you could honestly believe is a Colbert Special in Round 1 (see the list above) followed by a Round 2 trade up to obtain one of those worst-case scenario Corners.I may be doomed to disappointment but I’m going to dream! And it’s going to be fun regardless. Hello BTSC Community! My name is Dave Schofield and I am the new Community Manager for Behind The Steel Curtain. on waivers by Washington today Ryan Kerrigan Jersey , the team says it will not play him until charges stemming from his recent domestic violence arrest are resolved.“Today we have claimed the rights to LB Reuben Foster,” Senior V.P. of Player Personnel Doug Williams said in a statement. “The Redskins fully understand the severity of the recent allegations made against Reuben. If true, you can be sure these allegations are nothing our organization would ever condone. Let me be clear, Reuben will have to go through numerous steps including the full legal process, an investigation and potential discipline from the NFL, as well as meetings with counselors associated with the team before he will ever have the opportunity to wear the Burgundy and Gold as a player.”Williams noted that Foster went to Alabama, where seven other Washington players played their college football.“That being said, we decided to investigate the situation with Reuben further by claiming his rights after candid conversations with a number of his ex-Alabama teammates and current Redskins players who were overwhelmingly supportive of us taking this chance Cheap Trent Williams Jersey ,” Williams said. “Nothing is promised to Reuben, but we are hopeful being around so many of his former teammates and friends will eventually provide him with the best possible environment to succeed both personally and professionally.”Foster has now been arrested twice this year for domestic violence accusations. The first time, charges were dropped and he was welcomed back on the 49ers after the accuser recanted her story. The same woman accused him of domestic violence again last weekend at the 49ers’ team hotel, leading San Francisco to cut ties with him. There was a tripping penalty on the first play of the season. A holding penalty on the third. He allowed a sack and a team-worst 7 of the 18 pressures the Jacksonville Jaguars got in Eli Manning’s 39 drop backs on Sunday. Only two tackles allowed more pressures. Only one who played more than 50 snaps had a lower pass-blocking grade.Flowers’ overall Pro Football Focus grade was just 49.6, only 38.4 as a pass blocker. His play was bad. Anyone who watched saw that. And before you get all crazy about Giants coach Pat Shurmur defending Flowers on Monday by saying, among other things, “He had a lot of really good plays and he had a couple that he’d like to have back,” what is Shurmur supposed to do?The coach can see the film. He knows what he should, and should not, have seen better then you. Or me. Or any Twitter film critic out there. The Giants are stuck with Flowers for this season, though. He’s a Jerry Reese gift that keeps on giving. Or taking, whichever you prefer. He is in the final year of his rookie contract. He wasn’t ever going anywhere. He isn’t going anywhere now. Except back out to right tackle to try again.GM Dave Gettleman did a lot of things in the offseason. He couldn’t work a miracle and either a) find a taker for Flowers or b) make him a better player.Thing is, we know all that already. We know he wasn’t good on Sunday. Shurmur knows it. Flowers knows it. His teammates know it. The question is now whether Flowers can rebound from it, or if this was a sign of things to come. After not speaking to reporters on Sunday Youth Kerry Wynn Jersey , Flowers did so Monday. I’m glad he did. Sunday, he left teammates to speak for, and about, him. Monday, he took responsibility.Flowers said he “did some good things, but I think there’s some things I need to work on.” He also said he is “trying to get better.”He called the pick 6 where he appeared to get beaten badly around the edge a “hard play.”“The linebacker came, I was supposed to pick him up. He came and then he left, so I stepped to get him and then I had to pop back out last minute. See what I’m saying? I had two people inside first,” Flowers said.He said he is well aware of the criticism heaped upon him from outside the building, but that “it doesn’t matter, I don’t lose sleep over it.”“I lose sleep over what these guys in my room and on this team think about me, that’s it,” he said. All of that is fine. It’s good. It’s what you would expect him to say. No one wants to be bad their job. No one wants to embarrass themselves on national TV. No one wants to hear constant criticism from the media or the Twitter bench jockeys. That isn’t fun. One thing, though, about Flowers’ remarks befuddled — and concerned — me.Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Calais Campbell, the man he was going to be assigned to block most of the day Curtis Riley Jersey , is in his 12th season. He is a three-time Pro Bowler and was an All-Pro last season. There are voluminous scouting reports on the opposition provided by teams. Access to all the film you could possibly want to study. Yet, Flowers didn’t appear to know what to expect from Campbell on Sunday. In talking about the game-opening tripping penalty, with Campbell lined up against him, he said:“It was a quick pass so I jumped out there too fast on it. Next time I know what type of player I’m against, he’s not really a speed guy, so next time I’m won’t jump out so fast.”Umm ... what? With all of the information at your disposal how can you line up against an All-Pro in the season-opening game and not know what type of player you were going up against?GM Dave Gettleman talks about watching film until his eyes bleed. NFL players are known for studying hours and hours of tape each week — grinding away to find the slightest tendencies, the slightest tells, the tiniest bits of information they can gather to give them an advantage on game days. Some, though, really never master the art of studying the game. And it is an art. You have to know what you’re looking for, and how to use that information when you find it. Those who master it have a better chance of mastering their craft and succeeding on Sunday. Those who don’t will forever be at a disadvantage.Maybe that answer in itself reveals at least part of the reason why Flowers has continued to struggle during his four seasons with the Giants.I have no idea what Flowers’ study habits are. Or whether Flowers, noticeably reticent in speaking to the media, simply didn’t frame his statement well. That remark about Campbell, though, raises more questions than it answers.Quick thoughts on the offensive line in generalYes, the Giants have to be concerned about the offensive line. Still Nate Solder Jersey , let’s remember that the Jaguars possess a dominant defense. The Giants were never going to dominate the line of scrimmage in that game.If you think the cavalry is coming to upgrade the offensive line, guess again. Look at this list of available free agent tackles and tell me who you have confidence in. The Giants may add someone, but there’s no guarantee any of them will be better than what the Giants have.Eli Manning wasn’t the problem on SundayIn the press room on Sunday evening and on Twitter or in the BBV comments ever since Sunday’s game ended, there are those who want to blame the loss on quarterback Eli Manning. To put it succinctly, that’s a bunch of nonsense. If you’ve been reading Big Blue View for a while you know where I stand on Manning. I’m in the pro-Manning camp. That doesn’t make me blind to his weaknesses. It doesn’t make me incapable of seeing when he messes up, or admitting he’s done so. In no way, though, can you blame Sunday’s loss on Manning. Unless you are so far into the “I hate Eli, love Davis Webb and can’t believe the Giants didn’t draft Sam Darnold” camp that you can’t see clearly. In my view, Manning missed one throw — ONE!! — that he clearly should have completed on Sunday, the post to Odell Beckham Jr. that could have been a touchdown. The pick 6? Watch the play.I haven’t a clue how you can watch that play and objectively blame the outcome on Manning. Flowers is beaten badly to the outside, forcing Manning to step up. Patrick Omameh is tossed away like a dishrag by Abry Jones, who ends up right in the path of Manning’s throw and swats it into the air. What is Manning supposed to do about any of that?Manning’s not perfect. He didn’t play a perfect game. He took a pounding, pressured 18 times in 39 drop backs per Pro Football Focus, as the offensive line struggled. Let’s not forget the Jaguars have one of the NFL’s best defenses. The Giants showed some warts on Sunday. You can’t convince me that Manning was one of them. Here’s BBV quarterback guru Mark Schofield’s take on Manning’s Sunday:“They call it Overreaction Monday for a reason. This time last year the Ravens were back, the Chiefs were the best team in football and the Patriots had a host of problems. But it’s a long season and the results on a rainy afternoon at MetLife Stadium should be evaluated in context and used as a baseline. Did Eli Manning miss on a throw that might have changed the course of that game? Sure. New York caught Jacksonville in a Cover 4 look and got Odell Beckham isolated on a safety Authentic Sterling Shepard Jersey , but Manning’s throw was a step too far. Certainly a throw you’d like to see Manning make, but remember that this was a historically good pass defense a season ago, so making throws against Jacksonville is often a tough ask. The Pick Six was a disaster, and it started with Ereck Flowers up front. He got into his kick slide to try and match the speed of Yannick Ngakoue off the edge, but then stepped inside as he saw Telvin Smith come down to cover Saquon Barkley out of the backfield, assuming the LB was blitzing. He wasn’t, and that gave Ngakoue a free shot at Manning, who tried to climb the pocket and hit Barkley on a Texas route, but the pass was then tipped by Abry Jones and into the waiting arms of Myles Jack. That’s ... bad all around, but Manning did what he could when put in a difficult position. It’s not time to overreact, yet. “There were other missed opportunities, such as the fourth-and-6 throw to Sterling Shepard that came on a wheel route - a tough route to throw - that Manning underthrew by a step. If he hits either that throw, or the earlier post to Beckham, the conversation Monday morning is a much different one.”I will side with Mark, a guy who has played the position and understands it as well as anyone I know.

blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at home on Thursday night. As reactions pour in from the Giants locker room http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-ray-ray-armstrong-jersey , let’s take a look at what the Giants players are saying. Landon Collins on what his message tothe team is as a leader ...“Keep fighting,” Collins said. “Honestly, our message is keep fighting. Keep playing, keep playing hard ball. Stick to the books and stay together. That’s our message to our guys and that is what we’ve done. We all came in here, gave each other a hug, gave each other a little talking and we gonna get this grind going some kind of way.” Olivier Vernon on how it felt being back ...“It felt great to be back,” Vernon said. “Just got to get my legs back. Was expecting a win. It didn’t really go our way, but we just got to recover.”Odell Beckham Jr. on showing emotions on the sideline ...“I was trying to get myself going http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-b.j.-goodson-jersey ,” Beckham said. “I feel like some of those plays right after I was getting myself going was some of my best stuff. I was trying to get myself fired up, I did that, and it helped me. There was a lot of things that had me fired up. Like I said, it helped me bring out the energy, I don’t know a way around it but to get myself going.”Saquon Barkley on his performance ...“How did I feel about my performance tonight Doesn’t matter to me,” Barkley said. “We didn’t get the win. To be completely honest, don’t care. As long as we get the win, I don’t care if I went for however many yards or even if I went for 30 yards http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-kerry-wynn-jersey , if we won, if we got the win, I would be satisfied, but at the end of the day we didn’t so none of that matters.”Eli Manning on his concern being 1-5 ...“Obviously not where we want to be,” Manning said. “I’m not happy about it. I am frustrated like everyone. Obviously, all you can do is worry about the next game. That is the way football works. Watch this game, learn from it, see what we can do better http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-will-hernandez-jersey , work on it and get ready to play next Monday night in Atlanta.”Head coach Pat Shurmur on his team’s effort ...“My guys fought,” Shurmur said. “Absolutely, everybody fought. We got beat by a good team, we didn’t score enough points, they scored way more than us. Nothing wrong with the effort, they fought hard all the way to the end.”Alec Ogletree on what it will take to salvage the season ...“Every man just looking in the mirror, and doing the things they say they wanted to do,” Ogletree said. “We’ve got to come together as a team http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-janoris-jenkins-jersey , and play as one. We can’t make mistakes all over the field, because it hurts us. We got a little break here. Hopefully, everybody goes and kind of takes their mind off a little bit, but also think about the things that we need to do to turn our season around.” Ereck Flowers is on the move after clearing waivers. The former top 10 pick from 2015 was recently cut by the New York Giants, and is now signing a 1-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.Flowers will be rejoining his former head coach Tom Coughlin, who is now the president of football operations in Jacksonville. Additionally he will be working with ex-Giants offensive line coach Pat Flaherty. This move comes a few weeks after Jacksonville lost starting left tackle Cam Robinson to a torn ACL. Robinson, who was a standout rookie performer last season, went down in Week 2 against the Patriots. It has been confirmed he will miss the remainder of the season. With only Josh Wells at left tackle http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-connor-barwin-jersey , there were few options for the Jaguars to turn to. Flowers, who was benched in Week 3 for Chad Wheeler, will help fill out a team that is considered by many to be a Super Bowl contender.

http://www.49erscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-george-kittle-jersey , do not promote running back Fooch’s update: Cole Wick was seen in the pre-game workout session that includes injured and likely inactive players. This suggests he will be inactive and George Kittle and Garrett Celek will both be active. The San Francisco 49ers made a curious roster move on Monday in advance of Monday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers. The team promoted tight end Ross Dwelley to the 53-man roster and waived defensive end Ryan Delaire. This raises a couple questions. The first is that it means they did not promote either of running backs Jeff Wilson or Matt Dayes. This would seem to be good news for Matt Breida’s availability. Breida is recovering from an ankle injury he suffered last week against the Arizona Cardinals. Kyle Shanahan said at the beginning of the week that Breida was doubtful for Monday Night Football. However, on Thursday he said he would not yet rule out the second-year running back. He said the running back was day-to-day and they had their fingers crossed. The second question is what this means about the tight end position. George Kittle is listed as questionable with a knee injury. He was limited in all three practices this week, so it is possible he had a setback. Additionally, Garrett Celek practiced with a quadricep injury this week. He was listed as limited on Thursday, but was a full participant on Friday and Saturday. He also could have had a setback. It is possible Dwelley could be active over Cole Wick, but I feel like if that was the case http://www.49erscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-laken-tomlinson-jersey , they would have released Wick in place of Dwelley. Breida and Kittle have been the two most significant weapons for the 49ers offense through the first five weeks. It is fitting that this transaction speaks to both players, and we are coming down to the wire to get an answer on both of them. The 49ers have to submit their inactives by approximately 3:45 p.m. The decision to not promote a running back from the practice squad could mean one or both of two things: 1) They have a banged up squad, and they can’t afford to release a player, and/or 2) they are comfortable with Alfred Morris, Raheem Mostert, and Kyle Juszczyk handling the workload. Richard Sherman will play in Seattle for the first time since the Seahawks cut him to save $11 million in salary cap space for 2018. He was a 30-year-old cornerback coming off a torn Achilles.Though the Seahawks expressed interest in keeping Sherman Cheap Jimmy Garoppolo Jersey , he quickly signed with the rival 49ers.This season, Sherman has allowed only 16 catches for 266 yards, according to Pro Football Focus. Sherman has seen 30 fewer passes thrown his way than second-year cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon playing on the other side.Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he is “fired up” to see Sherman and Richard is a brilliant football player 49ers Adrian Colbert Jersey , and he has always been a guy that we would always work together with the little things that we would grow with year to year to try to stay ahead of it.

www.sanfrancisco49ersteamonline.com , with the Atlanta Falcons hosting the New York Giants on Monday Night Football to close it out. That game has fairly significant draft pick implications. The Giants sit at 1-5, tied with the 1-5 Oakland Raiders and a half game back of the 1-6 San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. The Falcons are 2-4, and scuffling along, but can remain in the wild card chase for the time being with a win. We’re back once again with a look at NFL standings from a couple different perspectives. He said there are times when a quarterback makes “a hell of play and everyone glad they did it www.authenticssanfrancisco49ers.com ,” but that Garoppolo got an unwelcome reminder about why the safe route is usually the better one for quarterbacks to take.“Those guys are competitive guys who want to do whatever they can to win the game,” Shanahan said, via the San Francisco Chronicle. “You’re not assuming by staying in bounds you’re going to tear your knee up. … But I think that’s something where Jimmy will probably look at differently going forward because I know he’ll remember this for the rest of his life. Nothing against him. This happens with everyone. You see it every Sunday. I just think it’s a reminder for everyone why that is the obvious coaching point and why you need to stick with it.”It will be next year before Garoppolo has a chance to show that he’s taken that reminder to heart, which makes for a pretty bitter way to learn a lesson.

slate against the spread The Pittsburgh Steelers finally managed a win on Sunday and Black Jon Bostic Jersey , for once, the BTSC team had a good week picking games, well, sort of. While Jeff Hartman and myself continued leading you astray with our game selections against spread, both going 7-8 on the week, Jeff was an impressive 12-3 against the totals, while I managed a respectable 11-4. Between us, there was only one Over/Under in Week 3 we failed to call correctly. Hoping to build on these results, Week 4 offers some interesting propositions featuring several home favorites and only three games separated by a spread of more than a touchdown. With half of the contests currently showing spreads of a field goal or less, there should be plenty of close games. After not winning a game for over a year, Jeff somehow sees the Cleveland Browns winning back-to-back games for the first time in what must surely be decades on Sunday. Picking the Miami Dolphins to cover the spread at New England might seem insane on the face of it, but I have a sneaking feeling that the Patriots will actually lose to the surprising 3-0 Dolphins in Foxboro. However Youth Le'Veon Bell Jersey , that could well be wishing thinking on my part though, with the heart ruling the head on this one.Selections have been made using the consensus Las Vegas odds from VegasInsider.com as per Friday night and we encourage you to play along with us by adding your picks below. There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who hate other people they don’t really know and Philip Rivers.Speaking of Rivers, the Chargers quarterback, NC State alum and a person who was so heavily coveted by former Steelers head coach—and fellow NC State alum—Bill Cowher leading up to the 2004 NFL Draft, Cowher almost did the unthinkable and not draft Ben Roethlisberger after Rivers went fourth, overall, I actually found myself cheering for him several times down the stretch of the 2018 regular season and into the playoffs. Why would I do something so disgusting, so against my moral fiber? Rivers is just so darn obnoxious, a person who called LaMarr Woodley fat before Steelers fans thought it fashionable to do so. Even an ex girlfriend of mine, someone who once thought a Pirate hit an inside the park home run because the ball went off the foul pole and landed back on the grass of PNC Park, knew of my contempt for Rivers way back in the day—”Rivers, isn’t that the quarterback you really hate Youth Cameron Heyward Jersey , honey?” Yes, my dear, it was....and still is.So, again, why would I allow myself to root for such a man? Simple: Rivers played a huge role in two things Steelers fans find near and dear to their hearts: the Steelers making the playoffs and the Patriots not winning the Super Bowl.As Pittsburgh struggled down the stretch of the regular season, I think most fans took comfort in knowing the Ravens, the team closing in fast on first place in the AFC North, had road games remaining against both the Chiefs and Chargers to close out the year. Two weeks after narrowly losing at Kansas City in overtime, the Ravens found themselves in Los Angeles to take on a Chargers team that had just defeated the Chiefs at Arrowhead and had a legit chance at the number one seed in the AFC. The game took place on the night of December 22, 2018. It was a Saturday, and I was having some beers with a friend at Riley’s Pour House in Carnegie. I was so nervous about this game, I didn’t even allow myself to look up at the screen and hoped my fellow Steelers fans sitting at the bar wouldn’t ruin the evening with bad news. They did. You know what they said? “I love how the Chargers have no interest in beating the Ravens and helping the Steelers out.” Yeah http://www.authenticspittsburghsteelers.com/cheap-vince-williams-jersey , because the Chargers would much rather go into the playoffs as the fifth seed, have no home games at all and play three weeks in a row just to make it to the Super Bowl than have to deal with those totally dangerous—except against the Raiders—Steelers in the postseason. Moving on.After the Ravens defeated Los Angeles and Pittsburgh lost to the Saints the next day, I finally accepted that the handwriting was on the wall with regards to the Steelers making the playoffs (well, there was that strange week when I and many other Steelers fans rooted for the Browns). But the consolation prize was cheering on the Chargers in the playoffs for some reason, mainly because they were taking on the Ravens and Patriots in back-to-back games. As I watched Los Angeles easily dispose of the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Wildcard Weekend (hmmm, maybe there was something to that whole not wanting the Steelers in the playoffs theory, after all), I found myself screaming things like, “Come on, that was roughing the passer, ref!!!!” And the quarterback I was sticking up for wasn’t Big Ben, it was Philip freakin’ Rivers. Last week Black Javon Hargrave Jersey , I enlisted Rivers help in taking care ofthe seemingly annual task of preventing New England from capturing a sixth Lombardi trophy, thus allowingSteelers fans to continue to win most Internet arguments. Unfortunately, Rivers and the rest of the Chargers played so terribly against the Patriots in the divisional round at Gillette Stadium, my friend got disgusted at halftime and made me watch a show called Fringe (that Anna Torv is a real looker). Now I feel gross, gross for cheering for a man I’ve always had contempt for.Never again, never again will I do such a thing....unless it helps the Steelers make the playoffs in 2019, of course. of second-year running back James Conner.Conner continues to shine in the spotlight while two-time All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell remains away from the team. Conner enjoyed a history-making day Authentic James Conner Jersey , accounting for more than 200 all-purpose yards during the Steelers' 33-18 home win against Cleveland on Sunday."He's doing what he's been doing the whole time," Steelers right guard David DeCastro said. "He's keeping his head down and running really hard. He's a fun guy to block for."Bell, who finished as the NFL's third-leading rusher last season, still has not reported nor signed his one-year, $14.5 million franchise tender.Conner has taken full advantage while Bell has been away.He finished Sunday's game with 212 all-purpose yards, just 25 fewer than the Browns totaled as a team. Conner, a 2017 third-round pick, rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 66 yards."I'm just doing what I love to do Womens David DeCastro Jersey ," Conner said. "Just trying to be in the right spots for (quarterback) Ben (Roethlisberger) with the check-downs in the passing game, and just trying to put the ball in the right spots in the right game."He also made history while he was at it.Conner is the first Steeler to rush for at least 100 yards and two touchdowns in three straight games. He eclipsed 100 yards rushing for the third straight game and fifth time this season."He did a lot of good things (against Cleveland), running the ball and catching the ball for us," Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey said. "He just looks good all the way around and runs the ball hard. He takes it very seriously and his preparation is very good. I can't say enough about him."Now, the rest of the league is taking notice.Conner's nine touchdowns rank second in the NFL and his 599 rushing yards are third. Conner, a former University of Pittsburgh standout, is also tied for the most touchdown runs, and has the second-most yards from scrimmage 鈥?922 鈥?through the first seven games of a season in team history."I had a front-row seat for his college exploits Womens Ramon Foster Jersey , so we are not surprised by his talents, play, demeanor, or his displays of will," said Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, whose team shares a practice facility with Pitt.Conner rushed for 135 yards, gained 192 all-purpose yards and finished with two scores during the season opener at Cleveland. He has 281 yards rushing, 404 all-purpose and four touchdowns in two games against the Browns. It wasn't easy for Conner on Sunday: Conner had 36 yards rushing on his first 12 carries. But on his next 12 Authentic Ben Roethlisberger Jersey , Conner added 110 yards rushing. By the third quarter, the fans at Heinz Field were chanting his name 鈥?"CON-NER," ''CON-NER," 鈥?when he finished the period with 114 all-purpose yards."I'm proud of him," Roethlisberger said. "It was so much fun to watch him go and work and be successful and hear the crowd love on him."Conner didn't allow the slow start to affect his play."Things aren't going to go our way the whole game," Conner said. "You just have to have patience. We just wanted to stay focused and locked in."Conner enjoyed a strong finish with 60 of 75 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown, during a third-quarter scoring drive that gave the Steelers an 11-point lead. He added a 22-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter."It's just a moment that we have to take advantage of late in the game http://www.pittsburghsteelersteamstore.com/stephon-tuitt-jersey ," Conner said. "We have the ball, trying to run the clock out and we need first downs. We're just trying to move those chains and stay on the field."Conner seeks a strong finish to the season, of course."I'm just trying to be a better back every week," Conner said. "I'm just running hard."Steelers Injury Report: Vance McDonald ruled out for game against Browns The injury report for the Pittsburgh Steelers ended the week the way it began on Friday, with just one name listed once again. After being a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, tight end Vance McDonald was held out of training on both Thursday and Friday and has now been officially ruled out of the game against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.Given that McDonald has not been able to fully practice with the team since leaving practice with a foot injury just days into training camp, it is hardly a shock to see him sitting out the first game of the year. Since the trade that brought him to Pittsburgh right before the start of the 2017 season, McDonald has already missed six games and been a partial participant in several others. As the presumed starter at tight end Womens Javon Hargrave Jersey , his value to the team is becoming increasingly questionable if he cannot make it onto the field when it counts.Jesse James will once again start in his place on Sunday, with Xavier Grimble likely to see extensive playing time in two tight end sets. However, considering Grimble is also recovering from an injury of his own, his snaps could well be limited too.Although Ramon Foster and T.J. Watt have missed extensive playing time themselves this preseason, both are expected to feature against Cleveland after they were full participants in training all week. When speaking to Teresa Varley of Steelers.com, Foster confirmed he was almost back to full strength.Watt was equally excited to get back on the field and eager to see some real game action. While the Browns also only have one player officially ruled out for the game in cornerback E.J. Gaines (Knee), linebacker James Burgess is also doubtful (Concussion). Custom Oakland Raiders Jerseys

losers: consolidating the position rankings Over the past two weeks Youth Trent Williams Jersey , I’ve posted several articles about position groups, asking Hog’s Haven members to rank those position groups & head coaches in the NFC East.It was nice to see commenters (mostly) put away the tendency to root for the home team and try to be (somewhat) objective.Burgundy-colored glasses certainly had an effect, but it was more akin to a halo effect, where — when it was close -- the advantage went to the home team.Overall, though, commenters were pretty fair in their assessments. At a time of year when NFL blogs struggle to offer anything to readers, and when comments on most NFL-related articles number in the dozens and often don’t muster more than a single-digit total of comments, Hogs Haven members really came through on these ranking articles. We’ve seen between 1,000 and 3,000 votes on each of the various polls, and the 10 ranking articles had a total of 1,700 comments!Given that I merely posed the questions, and the comments sections supplied the answers, this is a wonderful example of reader-driven content. Now that the series is finished, to wrap it up and try to put a bow on it, I wanted to put the many rankings on a chart to consolidate them and see what they said about the expectations for the coming season among the Hog’s Haven members.Unfortunately, there’s nothing really straightforward about doing that.I would have liked to have used the raw poll results to establish the rankings by position, but that would have been unlikely to reflect the reality of the situation or the opinions of the readers accurately. Instead, I started with the idea that when you rank the teams from 1 - 4, there are 10 position points to give out (1+2+3+4=10).I decided that the basic idea should be to allocate the 10 points across each position ranking, allowing ties between teams wherever it seemed appropriate. The rule was that the 4 rankings had to add up to 10 points. For each position ranking, I looked first at the poll results, but then leavened them by taking into account the comments section to establish general rankings. Finally I added a dash of something — common sense, balance, judgement, normalization... I’m not sure what to call it.Basically, I just tried to make sure that the final rankings weren’t unreasonably skewed by the raw voting results.A few things were obvious when I looked at the results of the polls and the content of the comments sections.Firstly, it’s a Redskins website, so there’ll be a significant Redskins bias.Secondly, reading the comments section made it clear that the Eagles fans had showed up in bigger numbers than the Giants fans, and the Cowboys groupies almost hadn’t showed up at all.The other thing that I found from this exercise is that recency bias plays a role. Using the recent past to project the futureThe power of recency bias is intense in the business of sports prediction. For example, last year, in the wake of the Giants’ 11-5 season and the Eagles’ 7-9 finish, Hog’s Haven voters largely put the Giants at the top of the voting and the Eagles near the bottom. This year, following the 2017 Super Bowl win for Philly and the Giants’ 3-13 meltdown, things were turned around. The results of the voting, in light of all the factors that influenced them Ryan Kerrigan Jersey , were not surprising. When I consolidated the voting, the comments and some personal judgement, and blended it all together, here’s what I came up with:Unsurprisingly, the Eagles came out with the best average ranking following their Superbowl win.The Eagles were rated either a clear first place or tied for first in 9 of the 11 rankings.Further, they were ranked last in only a single position group — running back. The Eagles, when all the position group rankings were averaged, had the best ranking at 1.8, indicating that readers are expecting them to, once again, win the division title. The Redskins, with a composite score of 2.3, were ranked second by the readers. The real surprise is that they weren’t ranked 1st by Hog’s Haven readers, but — as I mentioned above — the Eagles fans showed up in force to read, vote in, and comment on the articles in this series. The Redskins were in the top rank for only two position groups (OL and CB) and in both cases Washington was in a tie with at least one division rival. The real benefit for the Redskins was that they weren’t ranked #4 in any position group by the readers. The ‘Skins were typically ranked 2nd or 3rd.The Giants & Cowboys were routinely found in the 4th position in the individual position rankings in the series of articles on Hogs Haven, with the Giants being ranked as the worst in a position group 5 times, and the Cowboys bringing up the rear 6 times. The Giants could only muster 2 first place finishes (ties for WR & S), while the Cowboys had two uncontested first place rankings (RB & ILB) and tied with the Eagles and ‘Skins for the best ranking at the OL position. In the end, the unscientific analysis indicates that voters/commenters see a huge talent gap, with the Eagles clearly having the best roster, the Redskins second, and the Cowboys last.As is often the case, fans seem to be projecting the results from last season onto the season ahead, with a bit of a Redskins positive bias to push them up the rankings, and some Cowboys negative bias to push them down.Once again, given that these rankings were derived by asking opinions from Hogs Haven members, it’s no surprise that the Redskins came out ahead of both the Cowboys and the Giants. What is perhaps surprising is how much respect was given to the Eagles, though the evidence suggests that their fans ‘traveled’ to Hogs Haven and heavily influenced the voting, and participated in the comments.Giants and Cowboys fans had the same opportunity, of course, but — and this is especially true of Dallas fans — they simply weren’t here voting and commenting.I suspect that the Eagles fans, with their team having won their first-ever Lombardi Trophy, are staying more ‘plugged in’ through the offseason in an attempt to continue the celebration, and with anticipation of another successful season coming up.The overall message for the Redskins faithful from this series may be that the readers seem to think that the ‘Skins have enough to get to the playoffs, but that it will be as a wildcard team, not as division champs.Instead Cheap Trent Williams Jersey , they see the Eagles — returning the head coach and most of the starters — as the clear favorites to win the NFC East again in 2018.I’ll remind you that, last year, the same exercise ranked our division rivals in this order:GiantsCowboysEagleswhich is the exact opposite of their actual finishing positions in the 2017 division contest. The team we all seemed to expect to be the weakest in the division — the Eagles — ended up winning the Lombardi Trophy. The team that was projected to do the best — the Giants — started the season 0-4 even before the injuries really started to bite, and they never recovered.Final thoughtsIn the parity-driven NFL, last season doesn’t matter. Outside of the Patriots, there are very few teams that have shown a year-on-year consistency that would allow you to confidently project them as a playoff team year after year.As always, the NFL is a league of great parity; the NFC East remains (in my opinion) a division without a single dominant team; every season begins with the knowledge that anything is possible. And that’s why last year doesn’t matter for NFL teams, and why you’re allowed to be optimistic about the Redskins’ playoff chances this season. 2018 should be another great season for the division.Personally, I expect it to be a great season for the Redskins as well. Here are the links to the 2018 “Ranking the NFC East” articles:Quarterbacks & Running BacksWide ReceiversTight EndsOffensive LineSafetiesCornerbacksLinebackersEdge RushersDefensive LineHead Coach Bobby Beathard loathed first-round draft picks and reveled in taking chances on players from out-of-the-way colleges. It was a formula that paid off with two victories in four trips to the Super Bowl as general manager of the Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers. He also loathes dressing up, meaning the gold blazer he'll wear when he's inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame won't get much use after Saturday night's ceremony."I don't think I'll be wearing it many places except there," Beathard said. "I don't think I'll be going out to dinner with that coat on."That's Beathard, 81, who always was more comfortable dressed as a Southern California beach bum. In jobs ranging from scout to general manager, he helped build seven Super Bowl teams for four franchises, including four winners, during a career lasting nearly four decades.Beathard was so low-key that when Kevin Gilbride was hired as Chargers coach in 1997 and insisted that everyone wear a coat and tie on road trips, even the GM, Beathard reached into his pocket on one trip and found an NFL schedule from 1989. That had been the last time he wore a blazer, when he worked on NBC's pregame show.Beathard certainly didn't need a blazer for scouting trips to small colleges, or to bodysurf in his beloved Pacific Ocean, run the Boston Marathon or have a few beers once a week with his buddies in Franklin, Tennessee, where he's lived for several years. But he'll have to wear one Saturday night. His presenter will be Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs, hired by Beathard with Washington before the 1981 season."I would have had one of my sons but I think it was more appropriate to have Joe," Beathard said. "We spent a long time together."Gibbs, inducted in 1996, coached the Redskins to victory in two of the three Super Bowls the Redskins reached in the 1980s. Those are the teams Beathard is best-remembered for building. He also built the San Diego Chargers' only Super Bowl team, which was routed by San Francisco in the 1995 game.He began his career as a part-time scout for the Kansas City Chiefs in 1963 before leaving to scout in the AFL. He returned to the Chiefs in 1966, when they played in the first Super Bowl. In 1972, Beathard was hired as director of player personnel for the Miami Dolphins, who won consecutive Super Bowls. The Redskins hired him as GM in 1978 and he began doing things his way. He viewed first-round draft picks a commodity to be traded away to stockpile lower picks. He also worked the free agent market. In 1982, the Redskins team that won the Super Bowl included 27 free agents signed by Beathard since he was hired. In his 11 years in Washington, the Redskins used their first-round pick only three times. In 1988, Sports Illustrated called him "The Smartest Man in the NFL."Beathard didn't like the title."That was kind of embarrassing," Beathard said. "Whoever put that in there, I told them when it first came out, 'Well Youth Chase Roullier Jersey , you better go back and ask my high school and college teachers if that's true, and I don't think they'd agree with that.' "Taking Beathard's entire career as a whole, the label certainly fit."If I ever got into that position, I had a plan how I wanted to do it and it wasn't that the No. 1 draft pick was the most important thing," Beathard said about becoming a GM. "Every year we'd go out all year to all the colleges, scouting and looking at the players. And if it was a draft that was deep in talent I thought it was more valuable to get some of the later picks, because there were real good players down there, not only in the first round. If you had a high pick in the first round, trade that and get multiple picks where all the other players were. Fortunately it worked out for us. The only grief I got from it was from Darrell Green."Of all his draft picks and free agent signings, Beathard said his favorite was Green, the 5-foot-8 defensive back from Texas A&I who was taken with the 28th pick overall — the last pick in the first round — of the 1983 draft. Green went on to a Hall of Fame career."That doesn't mean the other guys, the Art Monks, the Russ Grimms and the Jeff Bostics, all those other guys, it doesn't mean those weren't just as important," Beathard said. "When we took Darrell Green, I'll never forget the phone call. When I called Darrell he was down at Texas A&I and I called Darrell and said, 'Hey Darrell, it's Bobby; we took you.' He got mad at me and said, 'Why did you wait until last pick to take me?' And I said, 'The way the draft works, we won the Super Bowl so we had the last pick, so blame the other (27) teams that didn't take you. Don't blame us.'"Beathard left the Redskins in May 1989 and was out of the NFL only one season before being hired by the Chargers. His first draft pick was Junior Seau and the Chargers reached the Super Bowl five seasons later. Seau was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015.When he scouted colleges, Beathard, who retired in April 2000, said he'd look beyond the players recommended by coaches."I traveled the whole country to every school that played football to look for players. I got to see the players personally, besides the scouting staff. I just had a lot of confidence in my evaluation. I wasn't afraid to take players from small schools, or small players."I think of Darrell Green, we had a little receiver, Alvin Garrett, guys that some teams thought we were crazy to take them because they were so small, but they were great players. I guess I was lucky to have a feel for some of these guys and had coaches who were willing to coach them."His greatest influences were Don Shula and Al Davis.Beathard said his best memory is of the Dolphins' undefeated 1972 season, "but they were all memorable. Any time we made it to that last game, it meant that we were going to the Super Bowl. Those were always great memories."Follow Bernie Wilson on Twitter at ://berniewilson Custom Denver Broncos Jerseys

Redskins fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse. This week, the Tampa Bay fans, whose team is averaging 28.6 points per game and playing at home, and who just watched the Redskins get stomped on at home by the Falcons... those Tampa Bay fans are predicting a 1-point loss to the Redskins.Redskins fans agree about the outcome, as they have predicted a 3-point win on the road against the struggling NFC South team. With two straight losses, and the only win since Week 2 coming against the Browns, Bucs fans have understandably had their confidence shaken after starting the season hot with wins against the Saints and Eagles. That seems a lifetime ago.In the past six games, Tampa Bay has undergone two quarterback changes on the way to a 1-5 record, yet they boast the leagues top passing offense and 2nd ranked offense overall, coming in 8th in points per game.Ryan Fitzpatrick is driving a scoring machine, while Alex Smith is mostly handing the ball off to Adrian Peterson.Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty ImagesIn the Redskins’ 5 wins this season, Peterson is averaging 112 yards on the ground, while Alex Smith is averaging 199 yards through the air. The Redskins are ranked 25th in the league, scoring just 20 points per game.On the face of it, Tampa Bay looks to be 8 or 9 points better than the Redskins, and two other high-powered passing attacks from the NFC South — the Saints and Falcons — combined to hand the Redskins 2 losses by a combined score of 81-33.Neither game was pretty for Redskins fans.It would appear that the only hope for the Redskins in this contest is to figure out what they couldn’t against New Orleans and Atlanta — how to stop a highly productive passing attack. The Redskins hold a one-game lead in the NFC East Washington Redskins Hats , having won 5 close contests while losing in two blowouts. The result is that the first-place Redskins have scored 160 points on the season, while their opponents have tallied 172.The Buccaneers have posted a total of 229 points this season, but their 3-5 record and last-place standing in the division owes to the 275 points the team has surrendered to its opponents. This game will come to a battle of strength-on-strength and weakness-on-weakness.The Tampa Bay high-powered passing game and high scoring offense will come up against the stingy Washington defense. The winner of that battle will have a huge impact on the eventual winner of this game. However, the anemic Bucs defense will be pitted against the largely ineffectual, and certainly low-scoring, Redskins offense. Can the ‘Skins put up enough points to get out of Florida with a win? This is, in many ways, a bizarre matchup that is difficult to predict. The Redskins are reeling from a bad home loss and multiple injuries that leave them with a makeshift offensive line with at least one starter this week having been signed in the past 5 days (where have I heard that before)? The Tampa Bay team is reeling from 5 losses in the past six games, after getting out to a fantastic start against the preseason favorites to win the NFC South and East divisions.Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY SportsIf Fitztragic shows up and throwsinterceptions while AD carries the ball 26 times for over a hundred yards, it could be a Redskins victory. But if the Buccaneers have early success with some big plays (Desean Jackson would love to put up a TD or two against the Redskins, I’m sure), and Alex Smith is forced to try to come from behind by passing for over 300 yards, it could be another ugly blowout loss to yet another NFC South team. With the Eagles and the Cowboys playing the Sunday night game, the Redskins really need to put this game in the win-column, which means they probably need to get on the scoreboard early and find a way to disrupt Ryan Fitzpatrick and force him to make mistakes.Brad Mills-USA TODAY SportsTwo fan bases looking for a reason to believe The Redskins earned their third straight victory this past weekend in another NFC East divisional matchup. Although the talent is there, the New York Giants are a mentally battered team and each week it infects their team as they step on the playing field. The Redskins did not fall into the potential “trap” spot; instead, they dominated the Giants offense throughout the game. Adrian Peterson continues his comeback player of the year campaign in solid fashion, closing out the Giants late in a one-possession game. Peterson is a significant part of the Redskins 5-2 start Washington Redskins Hoodie , but that was known already. What did we learn from the victory at MetLife Stadium? Let’s take a look.Run the ball and stop the run. The 2018 Redskins identity is clearly defined, and they will live and die by it throughout the year.Look there is nothing pretty about how the Redskins want to come out of a game with a victory. It comes down to who will be more physical up front, who wears down whom first, and that is who will escape the slugfest with a victory when facing the 2018 Washington Redskins. The Redskins are averaging 30 carries per game offensively while limiting teams to 21 carries and a 3.8 yard per carry average. Washington wants opposing teams to abandon the run and feel one dimensional, which is when the “dogs” are let loose. The pass rush has increased significantly as the weeks moved along, whether it is blitzes or straight up four-man rushes, Washington has accumulated 21 sacks in seven games and has them now tied for fifth in the NFL. Of course, seven sacks in one game against the Giants terrible offensive line and a statue of a quarterback will inflate your numbers, but there is no question games like that will boost pass-rushers confidence moving forward. This is the identity of the Redskins, so if you do not like it buckle-up, there are at least nine more games left. Coaching matters – Remember that as Josh Doctson and Jordan Reed’s impact on the offense continues to grow.Josh Doctson and Jordan Reed have not put up ridiculous numbers over the past three games. Targets matter, whether it is completed or not, the emphasis on getting passes thrown to players who “need” to contribute and make a difference is going to be a driving factor for this offense moving forward. The coaches, specifically head coach Jay Gruden, recognize that the offense is hanging on by a thread relying on Adrian Peterson to carry the offense. In the Redskins two losses, Peterson had a combined 15 carries for 26 yards (1.7 ypc). The Redskins have the sixth worse pass attack in the NFL, the worst it has ever been under Jay Gruden since the 2014 season where they ranked 11th. Over the past three games, Reed and Doctson combined have gotten 41 targets for 27 catches Youth Customized Washington Redskins Jerseys , which is a 66 percent catch rate. Expect the targets to remain consistent with these two players as they continue to be relied upon moving forward in an offense in dire need of a reliable playmaker(s). The team has their faults but relax, enjoy the ride, the Redskins are a good team, and it will be a fun season. They are a good team, and it is time to increase the expectations moving forward.I understand being cautiously optimistic, and tempering expectations are the preferred route for most Redskins fans, it is even displayed in me at times as I write. However, the fact of the matter is regardless of how nervous fans feel, the Redskins are a good team. It is time to embrace the quality team Jay Gruden and his staff have developed. How good are they? Washington may not be on the level of the Patriots, Saints, Rams, or Chiefs but they damn sure can compete with the best of the rest without a doubt. Expect the Redskins to have a good chance of winning against the rest of their opponents, because they are fully capable of doing so. Though the passing game on offense is struggling so far this season, the rushing attack and a solid defense will remain a factor as the weather starts to change up which goes in favor of Washington. It is okay to let your guard down a little, they may not win every game left on the schedule, but they will compete. Custom Washington Redskins Jerseys

33-18 loss to Saints What were players talking about after the New York Giants lost to the New Orleans Saints 33-18 on Sunday? Let’s go inside the locker room and find out.Landon Collins said it was “hard” to accept the outcome after the defense played well much of the game ....“At the same time though Kerry Wynn Jersey , we have to continue working and staying loyal to this team and by playing together, we’re going to figure it out. We have all the keys, we have all of the weapons, we just have to put it all out there.”Alec Ogletree on the officiating ...“Honestly, I think it’s basically they’re worried about reffing in the Super Bowl game. If you ask them why they call a call, they tell you they wouldn’t make that call in the Super Bowl. I think that’s bad. That’s bad all around. “That’s definitely what was explained to me that you wouldn’t make that call in the Super Bowl and I don’t think that’s right. I think you should call the game as it’s being played and if you do that, everything will work itself out.”New Orleans cornerback Marshon Lattimore on Odell Beckham Jr. ...“Our goal was to take him out of the game. I’m pretty sure he was in the game -- he’s Odell Beckham. We always try to take him out the game. We did a good job of that today and we got the win.”Lattimore on taking the deep ball away from the Giants ...“We were playing aggressive, we just didn’t let them do it. It’s not like we were playing pretty good defense and not letting the ball over our heads. We were playing man, but we just switched it up in between calls. I feel like we did a pretty good job of just staying on top and doing our thing. They went deep, but it wasn’t there.”Cornerback Donte Deayon on a pass interference call against him on a third-and-8 with 2:34 that gave the Saints, leading 26-18 http://www.giantscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-curtis-riley-jersey , a first down rather than forcing them to punt.“I was out there competing. I thought I got there the same time the ball did. I got up, I saw the flag, and they called P.I. It was what it was,” Deayon said. “It was pretty deflating. You’re trying to get the ball back for our offense, and they call a pass interference, and it negates all of that. So, it was pretty deflating.”Eli Manning on Sunday’s loss ...“Tonight was a frustrating one. We got off to a good start and had a good drive. We were moving the ball and making plays on this team but we just weren’t able to do it. We got into some third and longs that we didn’t convert on. They had some good calls and some good plays. They weren’t going to give us anything deep. They took away all the deep stuff and made us go underneath. That was fine. We were going to just have to have some long drives and continue to play that way. There was a few times where they knocked us out of some good down and distance and we weren’t able to sustain some drives.”Manning on dealing with the soft zone the Saints played ...“There are different ways, you just have to find completions. There are holes and it is just a matter of timing. The right plays and the right types of zones. Just mix in some three and some two. You just have to be patient some times and work the middle of the field and work underneath. Just get in some good down and distance. You just have to keep playing that way. There is also some opportunities to have some big plays also. The New York Giants returned to their losing ways against the Tennessee Titans. The Giants fell to the Titans 17-0, but the game didn’t even feel close when the two teams were tied 0-0. The days of the Giants feeling hopeful and as though they were on the rise seem long gone, though they were 4-1 and coming off of a 40-point divisional win cominginto the game. So then, what did we learn about the Giants on this cold Rhett Ellison Jersey , rainy afternoon in New Jersey? The Giants are who we thought they wereThe feeling all along has been that the first game of a three-game season-ending stretch which would tell us who the Giants are heading in to the 2019 offseason. If this game is any indication, they aren’t who we hoped they were — the team which won four of its last five and appeared to be heading in the right direction. Instead, this game was a carbon copy of the Giants’ 1-7 start to the season. The offensive line couldn’t block anyone on the Titans’ defense — in pass protection or run blocking. The offense tried to depend on ball-control plays but couldn’t get traction throwing horizontally. The defense was undisciplined, shooting itself in the foot with penalties, losing contain, and struggling to tackle. The tackling, in particular, was simply atrocious. Outside of the Giants’ defensive tackles and B.J. Goodson, the Giants’ defense hemorrhaged yards after contact throughout the game. The inability to tackle, and the Titans’ reliance on the running game, made it was mystifying why the Giants stayed in a nickel package for most of the game. The Giants desperately missed Odell Beckham Jr.If the Giants thought that their offense would be fine against the Titans without Beckham after scoring 33 points against the Washington Redskins ... They were mistaken. With Beckham out Cheap Landon Collins Jersey , the Giants could not find a consistent threat in the passing game. Manning struggled to find his chemistry with Sterling Shepard. For the second week in a row, Evan Engram emerged as the Giants’ best receiving option with 8 receptions for 75 yards on 12 targets.Engram showed his impressive YAC ability several times this game, but the Giants still had him running shallow routes until they were desperate to move the ball at the end of the game. While Engram has shown his potential worth to the offense, the Giants desperately need their superstar receiver back. Beckham not only has the ability to cover up many of the Giants’ mistakes and poor plays on offense, but his mere presence forces defenses to account and scheme to defend him.The Giants just cannot run the ball consistentlyThis is NOT a knock on Saquon Barkley. The narrative on him is that his tendency to dance behind the line of scrimmage and try to bounce plays for home runs rather than just taking the “dirty yards” makes him a boom or bust running back. That was anything but the case today. The Giants ran the ball for all of 31 yards on 14 carries (not counting the run by Eli Penny , and it had nothing to do with Barkley — who had one of the Giants’ longest plays when when he forced a missed tackle in the backfield — and everything to do with the offensive line’s inability to give him any kind of room to run. All too often, Barkley was either met in the backfield or swarmed as he crossed the line of scrimmage. The Giants tried to run Barkley up the middle and off tackle (including pitches), but couldn’t find any running room. The team has largely been unable to run the ball consistently all season, but Barkley had been able to put on his cape often enough and create magic out of nothing. Those big highlight-reel plays were enough to convince the Giants that they could run the ball, but they were outliers. Outside of those plays, the running game has largely been a collection of wasted downs. If the Giants want to be a run-first team Cheap B.J. Hill Jersey , if they TRULY want their offense to run through Barkley, they will need to do quite a bit of soul-searching and self-scouting between now, free agency, and the draft. The Giants’ season is (finally, mercifully) overThe Giants suffered their first shutout of the season. But if that wasn’t bad enough, the Minnesota Vikings dealt the Miami Dolphins put paid to the Giants scant hopes of playing post-season football. With the Giants well and truly out of the hunt and mathematically eliminated from post-season contention, it will be interesting to see how the Giants respond. Will they sit Eli Manning in favor of Kyle Lauletta (who’s first on-field performance was disastrous enough to get him promptly sat back down)? Will the Giants fiddle with their roster or scheme, using their last two games as pre-preseason games as they enter the 2019 offseason? We’ll just have to see.If we’re being perfectly frank, the way this team has played — not only against the Titans, but for most of the year — they earned this ignominious end to their season.

(that’s easy http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-kerry-wynn-jersey , they’re on a bye) football thread for Week 9.]Movin’ on up. An 8-6 week — still very average — brought the overall record closer to .500. If I finish the season over .500, I’ll be happy. We’ll see how much this week helps.Remember these picks are strictly for fun and entertainment purposes and please for your sake do not take these picks as gambling advice. Lines used here come from the Westgate Las Vegas via OddsShark. Home team in CAPS.SAN FRANCISCO (-2.5) over OaklandSan Francisco just lost to Arizona and the 49ers are still favored by 2.5 points. That feels like a pretty accurate assessment of the Raiders right now. Both of these teams are bad as currently constructed, so this comes down to coaching and at the moment I’ll give the edge of Kyle Shanahan over Jon Gruden, which I know is really going out on a limb. More importantly for Giants fans, this game and the Monday night game next week will have huge implications on the top of the draft considering the teams involved.[Update: This was a pretty easy win, 1-0 for the week]MINNESOTA (-4.5) over DetroitThe Vikings don’t exactly look like the title contender they were last season, but they’re getting closer to it as the season progresses. The defense that struggled to start the season is now 13th in DVOA. Detroit is also finding its way, but at a slower pace. They’re 26th in overall DVOA, thanks mostly to a 30th ranked defense. This feels like a game where Minnesota gets back on track after a loss to New Orleans last week.Chicago (-10) over BUFFALOChicago is first in defensive DVOA. Buffalo will be starting Nathan Peterman at quarterback again. That’s enough.CAROLINA (-6) over Tampa BayFitzMagic is back, but it’s got to run out at some point. Carolina’s defense isn’t the unit it’s been over the past few seasons — just 17th in DVOA — but the offense has been really good and that should give them a bigger advantage over Tampa’s terrible defense, especially after the Panthers were able to put of 26 points on the Baltimore Ravens’ defense last week.Kansas City (-8) over CLEVELANDCleveland might get a boost just from no longer being held down by Hue Jackson鈥?but then they also promoted Gregg Williams to interim head coach. That might not exactly be an upgrade for the rest of 2018, though it should be exponentially better for 2019 and beyond. Anyway, it’s pretty safe to say the best team in the league is going to blow through the team that just had to fire its coach and offensive coordinator. Though I do wish Patrick Mahomes vs Baker Mayfield could come in better circumstances.Jets (+3) over MIAMIMiami is decidedly not good. We can see the defensive performance that had earlier in the season was very much based on sample samples and turnovers. They’re now 23rd in defensive DVOA. The only thing keeping them as a somewhat acceptable overall team is a third-ranked special teams. But the Jets are second in special teams DVOA, so Miami won’t even have the advantage there. A pretty good Jets defense gets to go against Brock Osweiler and you should never take Brock Osweiler in that situation.BALTIMORE (-3) over PittsburghThis is the one game I really don’t know what to make of where I stand. Baltimore is good and one of the league’s legitimately good defenses, but even that couldn’t stop them from giving up almost 40 points to the Panthers last week. The Steelers also aren’t exactly the Steelers. The offense is good and not great and that can be a problem when it has to carry a defense that has been bad. I want to say I have more faith in the Ravens putting everything together at home.Atlanta (+1.5) over WASHINGTONIs Washington good? Sure, 5-2 and leading the NFC East, but is Washington good? They’re 14th in overall DVOA, but the offense ranks just 21st. Would you be really surprised if Atlanta’s ninth-ranked offense is able to score on Washington’s 14th-ranked defense? Does Washington have enough on offense to take advantage of the Falcons’ bad defense? They barely did against the Giants until the late Adrian Peterson run. Only being favored by 1.5 at home suggests Vegas isn’t too sold on Washington either.Chargers (+2) over SEATTLEThis game is going to be overlooked because of Rams/Saints and Packers/Patriots, but this matchup should be fantastic. The Chargers have one of the league’s best offenses and the defense has slowly been coming along. Seattle has survived the mass exodus of defensive players and still rank second in defensive DVOA. The offensive line isn’t atrocious anymore and they have that Russell Wilson guy throwing the ball. Still, I’ll the Chargers a slight edge here because I have to pick, but this is a game I could probably just watch on repeat and enjoy.DENVER (-1) over HoustonDenver was a seller at the trade deadline — Demaryius Thomas is now a Texan — but the team has been playing well lately despite the record. The Broncos have gone 1-2 over the past three games, but those games were a three-point loss to the Rams, a blowout win against the Cardinals, and a three-point loss to the Chiefs. That’s an impressive stretch even with two losses. Houston will have to see if the offense clicks with Thomas — currently 24th in DVOA — to get through a good Denver defense.Rams (+1.5) over NEW ORLEANSI’m going to find it hard to make anyone a favorite against the Rams right now, even though the Saints were my preseason pick to make the Super Bowl. You could consider these offenses about even http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-will-hernandez-jersey , but the Rams defense has been so much better than the Saints this season, so that could give them the edge in what is likely to be a highly entertaining shootout.Green Bay (+6) over NEW ENGLANDI made the mistake last week of thinking Aaron Rodgers wouldn’t be able to keep a game against a superior opponent close. I wouldn’t confidently pick the Packers to win this game, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Rodgers was able to score enough to keep this game close.Tennessee (+6) over DALLASTennessee is still a team I have no handle on, but why are we giving the Cowboys six points over anyone? The defense is good — 11th in DVOA — but are we really expecting Amari Cooper to be a magical fix for the offense? I’m not sold just yet.Last week: 8-6Season: 56-60-5 For nearly two weeks we have wondered how, and if, the New York Giants would rebound from their Thursday night loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. After what seemed like an eternity between games, we got our answer in yet another loss, this time against the Atlanta Falcons. Just watching the game revealed some good and entirely too much bad with the Giants. Let's take a closer look at the stats from the game and see what they have to tell us. OffenseQuarterbackMonday night’s loss to the Falcons was a mixed bag for Eli Manning. The Giants’ quarterback had one of his best games from a raw statistical point of view. He threw for 399 yards and a touchdown, completing 71 percent of his passes and a season-high 10.5 yards per attempt. Manning attacked every level of the Falcons’ defense, finally taking advantage of a poor secondary to employ their playmakers. However, Eli also missed some passes he probably should have connected on, and also made some poor decisions which cost the offense opportunities for points. All in all, Manning had his issues, but he also did about as much as he could to compensate for a nonexistent running game and bad pass protection.Offensive LineThe third version of the Giants’ offensive line — Nate Solder, Will Hernandez, Spencer Pulley, John Greco, and Chad Wheeler —was hardly an improvement on the previous two combinations. Once again, Manning was under duress all game long, adding four more sacks to his season total. He is on pace to be sacked 55 times this season, shattering his career-high of 39, set in 2013. As has become a theme this season, each of the Falcons best pass rushers got well within league-average of Eli on their pass rushes, per Next Gen StatsMeanwhile, the blocking for Saquon Barkley in the run game was nearly nonexistent.Skill Positions Speaking of Barkley http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-janoris-jenkins-jersey , who was on the field for 59 of the Giants’ 64 snaps, the looks he received in the passing game weren’t any better than those he got in the run game. He was targeted the second most times with 10, but all of them were in the backfield on either swing passes or as check-downs. The Giants relied on Barkley for easy completions, but never actually set him up to do much of anything with them. Unfortunately, his streak of games with 100 or more scrimmage yards was broken, as he compiled 94 total yards. Given his extreme explosiveness in the open field, it simply doesn’t make sense that the team doesn’t let him run routes down the field, either from the backfield or from the slot or wide receiver positions. But while the Giants’ usage of Barkley is mystifying at best, they finally seemed to figure out how to use Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard. Beckham played 61 snaps (95 percent), while Shepard played 59 (92 percent). The two combined for 210 yards on 13 receptions ( 8 for 143 yards and a touchdown for Beckham, 5 for 167 yards for Shepard), an impressive enough box score. But more importantly was how they were used. Finally, the Giants used Beckham and Shepard as the complimentary weapons they are and moved them around the offensive front and targeted them down the field. DefenseFront sevenThe Giants’ front seven had one of their best performances of the season against a porous Atlanta offensive line. The team had three sacks in the first quarter, and notched another 5 quarterback hits and 6 tackles for a loss over the course of the game. For the first time since their Week 3 win at Houston, the Giants consistently got closer than league-average to the quarterback. Olivier Vernon, who played an incredible 64 of 65 snaps — only Alec Ogletree played more — was the spark for the Giants’ defense early in the game. He routinely beat his man and set up his teammates for their own success. However, it was plain to see by the end of the game that he was gassed. He is a very well-conditioned athlete and has a non-stop motor, but playing every defensive snap but one is a lot to ask of a player in his second game back from a leg injury. Fellow starting EDGE player Kareem Martin played 34 snaps (54 percent), making three tackles and a tackle for a loss. Lorenzo Carter (24 snaps) and Kerry Wynn (22 snaps) rotated with Martin. Carter picked up a tackle, a tackle for a loss, a sack and a quarterback hit, while Wynn notched a tackle, a tackle for a loss, a sack, a quarterback hit http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-connor-barwin-jersey , and a pass defensed. For the first time this season, B.J. Hill lead the defensive tackles in snaps, with 37 (57 percent). He didn’t record a sack, but the rookie tackle once again flashed his power, leverage, and technique with four tackles and a tackle for a loss.Dalvin Tomlinson was close behind, logging 32 defensive snaps (49 percent), and notching four tackles of his own. Damon Harrison brought up the rear for the starters, with 30 snaps (46 percent). Mario Edwards Jr. came up with a quarterback hit and a sack — wiped out by penalty — in his 23 defensive snaps.SecondarySafeties Landon Collins and Curtis Riley each played all of the Giants’ 65 defensive snaps, while Janoris Jenkins played 61, and the recently-traded Eli Apple played 58 snaps. B.W. Webb — who will now be the Giants’ starting corner in place of Apple — played 39 snaps, getting two tackles, as well as two tackles for a loss, a sack, and a quarterback hit.The play of the Giants’ secondary against the Falcons’ passing game is difficult to quantify. On one hand, they held Julio Jones to his lowest per-catch average of the season, but he still caught 9 passes for 104 yards. The problem for the Giants was that they simply did not have the defensive depth to match up with the Falcons’ passing game. James Bettcher found early success by having defensive backs blitz rather than try their hands in coverage, but Atlanta eventually countered by replacing the blitz with the ball. The defense did its job, holding the high-powered Falcons’ offense to just 23 points and giving the Giants’ offense a chance (which it squandered) to build an early lead. But once Atlanta adjusted, they did a fantastic job of finding the holes created by the Giants’ blitz packages and spreading the ball around. Ten different receivers caught passes from Matt Ryan, nine of whom caught at least two passes. All in all, the Giants’ defense had its work cut out for it against Atlanta’s potent offense. And while they were far from perfect, they did about as well as could be expected without the offense providing anything like a lead.

fell apart in May when the victim Rookie Nick Mullens Jersey , ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis, recanted her claims against the then San Francisco 49ers linebacker.Ennis, still involved with Foster despite the prior incident, was again the focal point of this weekend’s incident with Foster that resulted in his release from the 49ers. However, one key aspect appears to be different this time around.According to A.J. Perez of USA Today, Ennis intends to participate in the investigations against Foster stemming from Saturday night’s incident at a Tampa hotel.鈥淲e are moving forward,鈥?said Adante Pointer, a lawyer who is representing Foster’s accuser. 鈥淪he will participate in the process.鈥滷oster was claimed off waivers by the Washington Redskins on Monday and placed on the Commissioner Exempt list as the league investigates the charges against him from this weekend.Foster had been accused of leaving her bruised and with a ruptured ear drum following a February incident in Los Gatos, Calif. He was charged with one felony for that violent act, another felony for forcefully attempting to prevent the victim from reporting the crime, and a third felony for possessing an assault weapon. Foster is also charged with a misdemeanor for possessing a large capacity magazine. After Ennis recanted the domestic violence claims Nick Mullens 49ers Jersey , Foster pleaded no contest to a weapons charge and an additional marijuana charge led to Foster being suspended for the first two games of the season. The case for sticking with C.J. Beathard the rest of the 2018 season The San Francisco 49ers suffered a potentially devastating blow on Sunday, losing Jimmy Garoppolo to what is believe to be a torn ACL. Once confirmed, the injury would end his season, and leave the 49ers hoping he can get healthy in time for the starting of 2019 training camp. After Garoppolo went down, backup quarterback C.J. Beathard entered the game for one snap. He appeared to throw a fourth and goal touchdown pass to George Kittle, only to have it negated due to a bogus offensive pass interference call on Kyle Juszczyk. The 49ers kicked a field goal and the offense never returned to the field. After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan and several players on the roster expressed confidence in and support for Beathard as the 49ers starting quarterback. They saw him take some lumps in five starts and a half of relief and stand tall during a rough time for the team. The 49ers got their first win of the season during his time, but lost the other four starts. It was not pretty football, but they had reached the point where Brian Hoyer was not going to offer enough of a look to the future — and Jimmy Garoppolo was eventually set to replace him.Now that Garoppolo is done for the year, plenty have raised the question of adding a quarterback outside the organization. Colin Kaepernick is a regularly mentioned name, but also we have heard some people throw Jay Cutler out there. He would appear to be plenty busy with “Very Cavallari Authentic George Kittle Jersey ,” but even without his newfound reality show stardom, playing out the string with Beathard makes the most sense given the state of this team.We might as well first address the Colin Kaepernick elephant in the room. I think he would be a general upgrade, but Kyle Shanahan has seemingly made it clear he does not think Kaepernick is a fit for what he wants to do. We can debate this till the end of time, but it seems all but certain the 49ers will not be signing Kaepernick.Tim Kawakami took a look at some of the various options out there the team could consider. People are talking about Nick Foles, Matt Schaub, Tyrod Taylor, and a host of others. And yet, at this point in the 49ers rebuilding process, rolling with Beathard makes the most sense.I don’t doubt there are plenty who think we already know everything we need to know about C.J. Beathard. Last year, he came on in the middle of the year, and while he proved he could take a hit http://www.sanfrancisco49ersteamonline.com/weston-richburg-jersey , he was not exactly overly impressive. But that was also the earliest stages of the 49ers rebuilding process. He now has a second offseason under his belt with Kyle Shanahan, and the 49ers have added talent on the offensive side of the ball. The 49ers were a fringe playoff contender at best heading into this season, and with the inconsistencies of the defense through the first three weeks, fringe might have been a generous term. Without Jimmy Garoppolo, this is not a playoff team. Jay Cutler or Colin Kaepernick or Tyrod Taylor offer a veteran presence, but it’s hard to see them being a sufficient enough option with a shaky defense to turn this team into a clear playoff contender. The 49ers don’t know what Garoppolo will look like when he returns to the field. He could turn out fine and this ends up being a year-long speed bump en route to a great career. It could also end up being a major turning point in his career. We don’t know at this point. We do know the 49ers need to further figure out what C.J. Beathard brings to the table. He likely has 13 games in front of him with an upgraded offensive line and upgraded pass catching options. If Beathard shows sufficient improvement from last year, the 49ers will know they’re in great shape with a solid backup quarterback behind a quarterback coming off a potentially devastating knee injury. If he struggles, the 49ers will know they likely need to upgrade their backup quarterback position behind a quarterback coming off a potentially devastating knee injury. Ask the Philadelphia Eagles about the importance of that. It’s not an ideal situation by any means, but it provides a chance for the 49ers to get at least one clear answer out of this mess. Players recover from knee injuries a lot better than in the past, but there are no certainties with it. Getting a firm answer as to what C.J. Beathard provides in year two of his career offers some value in an otherwise ugly situation.
